If you are making hay you need a tedder. This is our first year using a tedder. You would not believe the difference. I have not used it on all the hay because it has not been needed but where it was needed it made a world of difference. I put up hay this weekend in 2 days and there is no question it was dry enough to bale. This was in a back corner of my property where the hay is heavy. I cut Saturday morning drum mower no crimper. Tedded Saturday morning had lunch and then turned around and raked and baled. This is excellent hay field but has always been a challenge to dry it is heavy in clover. It has taken days in the past to dry and even then was questionable when baled. I have one piece in the corner that is less than an acre and I pulled 4.75 big bales off of it. So thick I could only bale in first gear and that was pushing it. and that was only a 10 foot windrow. I even have one spot in another area that was 6 foot tall read cannery in the past it has been get it as dry as I could and then bale it in separate bales cause it was always questionable and would likely caramelize. This time cut and baled the next day and no question about its condition.
