I agree that antibiotics should be restricted in both animals and humans. I suspect this will do nothing to change anything and you will just have to get it from a vet instead. This line
"After removing all use of feed antibiotic, it was discovered that it was needful to fight infections. Rather than give control back to the grower, the FDA decided to put it in the hands of trained vets."
Sounds like to me they are saying they need that continuous antibiotic. um no antibiotics are for bacterial infection if you are having to give them regularly then you have a management problem and in many cases it is because of improper feed.

Does all feed have meds. in it ? The only feed we use is from a local feed mill . The cattle and goats get one 2 gal. bucket a day . We use it as a additive to the pasture and hay . We have not wormed or had a vet here in two years now . I am considering worming this year just as a precaution .

No most feed should not have it in it. It is added to the feed. Not to say that some does not. their are other things in processed feed that you may not want. They often add artificial sweetener to get animals to eat substandard feed. It is also used to increase apatite. Thats right all of you that like your diet pop artificial sweetener is used in animal feed for increased appetite and weight gain. They do not have to tell you it is in the feed or even put it on the label.
Dave do not worm as a precaution. Just like antibiotics it should not be given just because. The worms do build up resistance to it. All cows have worms it is a fact of life. There should be very few of them if all is in balance. If you have any reason to suspect worms take a fecal sample to the vet. It cost me less to have the vet check it then it does to randomly give meds. I have only had them check a few times in the past and nether time did they find any. and by the way the poor ons are worthless for intestinal worms.
