Its that time of year we will begin roundup and transport of all of the Dexters back to our house for winter time. I have done it enough times now I have figured out the best configuration for the coral to make it go smoothly. It should go faster this year now that I have a 4 compartment trailer. Twice as many hauled at a time.
It has been a busy couple of months with farm projects. The biggest of which were finishing perimeter fencing. so I could open up another 40 acres to the cows. I have yet to do any waterline for that section so I just turned them out on it with no rotation on that section. Will try to work on water line next year. Also spent several weeks repairing a stream crossing washed out by flooding. More work to go we will see how long the weather holds before snow puts a hold on everything.

It sounds like quite a task. Please be careful.

Did you get them all hauled? How did it go? Have you had snow, yet?

All moved that I intended to. The Colorado heard is all back here. Didnt go to bad. I was going to load my big old Colorado bull first to get him out of the way plus my bulls never give me any trouble loading. Well I had the cattle panel shoot tied with twine. He started down the shoot to the trailer and then calmly lifted the panel ripped the twine and walked out. Then he walked around and wanted to come back in so he could be back with his girls I opened the fence and he walked back in. I ended up loading him last. guess he didnt want to leave his girls behind.
Next weekend I will tear down the coral move it to our other farm set it all back up and do it all over again.

That's a big job. Good to hear it is going well.
It's hard to think that winter is coming soon. We have been having such beautiful weather this fall.
I think for all of us, there's always something needing fixed or a project going on. LOL Fencing, water lines, barn repairs, liming. Sure keeps you busy! I do love it though. I'd rather be outside with my family/animals any day over being in the house.

Same thing here. Beautiful yesterday 70+ and sunny. Such a treat for mid November. Then the wind started up before noon, and it has blown all day. We're going to have to change the troughs tomorrow and get ready for winter. Up til now it's just been a few frosts and no freezes. They're calling for lows in the upper 20s for a while starting tomorrow.
