been a very busy month for us here. the hay is finally done for the year. The transmission went out in my bailing tractor before I could get to my last field. Luckily I found someone that could bale the last field for me. Now I have to find someone with a trailer big enough to haul my tractor back to my house so I can work on it.

That's bad luck, having your tractor quit on you. Wipes out all the good feeling about getting your hay cut.
I saw someone towing a tractor on the road in front of my place, using a long strap. One man driving the pulling tractor and one man driving the towed tractor.

Not doing that I have to go down a busy highway. I think I found some one with a large deck over equipment trailer I can use.

yep got it back to my house saturday. Loading it was no big deal. Unloading was not as easy. No reverse this time so had to park on a hill and let it role off. when I got near the back of the trailer It took to much weight off the truck and the truck started sliding down the hill. once I got the weight on the ramps they dug in and stopped the slide. It was a decent sized tractor backin the day. Nothing compared to some of them today. You dont realize how big they are until you get them up on a trailer. Unfortunately it will not fit in my garage so I will have to work on it outside.

Do I detect a new garage project coming on?
Be sure to install an overhead crane with two lifts, so you can pick up the front and rear of the tractor at the same time.

You're lucky. The labor for replacing that shouldn't be too bad.
Hopefully it didn't put you into two gears at once and chip some gear teeth.
Did you have to pull the engine and transmission or were you able to get to it through an access panel?
Of course, the next question will be, "Can you find new parts?"
I wish I could be there to help.
Good luck!

gears look ok normal front edge where.
No didnt have to split the tractor. Part of the floor comes out and you can get to the top of the trans from there. You would have to split it if gears needed replaced.
Parts shouldn't be a problem it is a AC 190 very popular back in the day and still a lot of them out there in use.
I have a call into the dealer. I am going to replace all the forks and some other worn parts while I am in there.

tractor is fixed. I did not replace all the forks. They were around 400 a piece. The broken one was a dealer only. There was another one that was badly worn and it was available after market. The 1st gear fork had very minimal ware so I did not replace it. I did replace all of the shift interlock pins and some other parts to. Shifting is tight now but smooth.
